Fantasy Illustration - Class Description

 

Level: 1, Age requirement: All, Format: Classroom, Prerequisites: Drawing 101, Color Pencil 101 or Cartooning 101.

 

 

DESCRIPTION:

Student will be allowed to stretch their imaginations in order to create creatures, Anthropomorphic Art, Super Hero's,Dreamscapes and Future Science Conceptual Art

 

OBJECTIVES:

Students will refer to various pictures of of their preference. We will discuss type of environment, climate, textures and styles of their masterpiece. They will be instructed to avoid horror scenes, witchcraft or demonic graphics and symbols or scary bloody images. They will be encouraged to pursue a healthy God given imagination.

 

SUPPLIES:

The school supplies pencils and Bristol board for exhibit display. However, student need to bring color pencils and mattes for their final projects. If they have other tools, pens or supplies they want to use I am ok with that.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Student will learn a deeper appreciation of our world and God’s creation. They will also stretch their imaginations. They will share in a bonding of friends with the same interest and ideas. They need to show their work matted in the MSOA exhibit.

 

REGULAR SCHOOL HOURS:

Check schedule to determine time of class. Students are responsible for showing up on time. Students are responsible to make up missed work outside of regular class hours. Student may make up work at home as long as they bring it back to class each week.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT:

Students will not be graded (unless in college); however they will be evaluated through their level of maturity and cooperation. Help in setting up and cleaning the room after class is required. Each student is responsible for his or her own area.

 

HOW TO SUCCEED:

To be successful in this class students must be willing to experiment freely with color, textures and complete all exercises. They will need to be focused and have a plan for a creature, scene or theme in mind.
