Portrait 101 - Class Description


Level: 101, Age Requirements: All, Format: Classroom, Prerequisites: Drawing 101 preferred


DESCRIPTION:
Students learn face proportions, drawing features such as eyes, lips, noses, ears, mouths and hair. They learn simple mapping of shapes in the face such as light and dark areas.

OBJECTIVES:
To learn to draw the entire face correctly.

SUPPLIES:
Supplies are covered under the supply fee

WHAT TO EXPECT:
They copy many different expressions becoming acquainted with the facial features. After becoming comfortable with the basic face shape, they copy a drawing of a simple face.

REGULAR SCHOOL HOURS:
Check schedule to determine time of class. Students are responsible for showing up on time.  Work will take place during regular class hours.

CODE OF CONDUCT:
Students will not be graded (unless in college) ; however, they will be evaluated on their ability to complete in-class assignments.

HOW TO SUCCEED:
Students must be able to successfully copy a face before taking Portrait 201.
