Level: 201, Age Requirements: All, Format: Classroom, Prerequisites: Portrait 101, Portrait 102, Drawing101 required. Instructor Permission Required: Yes
DESCRIPTION:
Students do blind contours and practice sharpening their observation skills. Students work from a photo on colored paper building lights and darks. The instructor gives a lot of individual guidance in refining mapping skills, contrast and shading the face.
OBJECTIVES:
Students who complete their first portrait on colored paper and if they have time (or are college students), then work on black paper and copy a master picture.
SUPPLIES:
Supplies are taken out of the school supply fees.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Learn to put life into features, creating expressions and capturing the soul of the person. Students in this class advance very quickly.
REGULAR SCHOOL HOURS:
Check schedule to determine time of class. Students are responsible for showing up on time. Work will take place during regular class hours.
CODE OF CONDUCT:
Students will not be graded (unless in college); however, they will be evaluated on their ability to complete assignments.
HOW TO SUCCEED:
Students must be able to successfully copy a master before taking Portrait 301.

DESCRIPTION:
Students work on more complex portraits - side and angled views. They will gain a working understanding of the skeletal and musculature forms that make up the human face. Students will draw from life in this class and will work from various perspectives.
