Students do blind contours and practice sharpening their observation skills. Students work from a photo on colored paper building lights and darks. The instructor gives a lot of individual guidance in refining mapping skills, contrast and shading the face.
Students who complete their first portrait on colored paper and if they have time (or are college students), then work on black paper and copy a master picture.
Supplies are taken out of the school supply fees.
